This is a story that has been told and re-told on this site so many times that today I'm not sure of all the details.  But here, in a nut-shell, is the story of where "Kasandora the Goddess of Pie" comes from, and why this site exists.

The title of Goddess of Pie was first bestowed upon me some time in 1998, by a group of friends I had in college.  Another person already had the title of being The Nifty Cheese Goddess, so of course I had to have a title too!  As I recall, it happened on day when we were all at the cafeteria... I was eating a slice of pie, some comments were made, and I don't remember much else.  Suffice it to say the title was placed, and since then that has been my online persona.  In my experience, I've come across only a few others who have claimed the title of Pie Goddess (or have had it bestowed upon them).  However, since imitation is the highest form of flattery, I chose not to smite them on the spot and instead have just let them be.  ^_~  Now-a-days "pie goddess" has come to mean anyone who bakes pie well, which is also acceptable to me.  ^_^

Now the name Kasandora has an entirely different story behind it.  It's actually the name of a desert in an old Nintendo game (I have a bad habit of never remembering the title of it though... Act Raiser maybe?).  I got the name from someone I was dating at the time, as I've clearly never played the game before.  ^^;  In any case, I fell in love with the name and have been using it ever since.  When I started being the Goddess of Pie, I simply tacked that onto Kasandora for use as my online name.

Because I love making websites, I decided back in, hmmmm... 2002 or so I believe, to buy my own domain name.  Why I bought "kasandora.com" and not, oh, "piegoddess.com" or "piegoddess.net" isn't clear to me at this point, but I love this site none-the-less, and it is my permanent home on the internet no matter how many face-lifts it experiences.  Thanks for stopping by!
